There has been some discussion re rolling a new iso of sme10, an alpha
3, due to the number of upstream updates.

Will the new alpha make sme10 any more useable than it is now, not
really, most of the verified bugs are in the alpha 2 already.

Will a new alpha substantially benefit users, no, there are no users.

If everyone was to agree the new alpha was to just save downloading
300mb for the occasional test install and agree it did not move the
cycle ahead with bug fixes, so NO announcement, NO release notes. Sweet,
do it.

My opinion and its just mine, the time for a new sme10 alpha 3 is still
a little way off yet.

Hey all my own words :-)

Appreciate you opinion Terry.

Still I am in favor of updating the Alpha cycle to 3 with all current
upstream updates. Makes us a bit more current and up to date. It would
also reveal if we are up to par with new updates and their config
changes is any.

After all, it is very easy to do for current ISO devs, and many (also
users and testers) would benefit from it, although they not may speak
out loud like I do.. ;-)

So I see no downside of updating the Alpha release cycle, only benefits.

Cheers.

Mate, not an issue at all with a differing view :-) its how things get
done, after all if we all agreed nothing would change..

I was just putting it out there, happy to follow whatever comes.

My efforts are all in the testing after all, to little education to do
anything else :-)

Keep well, must be starting to get a little warmer there by now, as its
just beginning to cool off here, although not to much forecast 32
tomorrow :-(
