Hi all members of the community,

Have you tried to install a server with the new SME9.2 RC1 iso?

Can you report here your feedback so we could be comforted to make it to
the final release soon, and ideally around the date of end of life of SME8?

Aside to what Terry reported with the version numbering, I have seen no
issue on my side.

I'm already using a Beta2 plus some updates in production, no issues so
far..

This evening I'll update it using smeupdates-testing repo and will
report back

While I have been concentrating on bug triage on sme10, I have still
only noticed the one issue with 9.2 as above..

Seems all good..

When running an update from 9.1 to 9.2RC1 it leaves the default grub selection at 9.1 ver, not the new kernel. And yeah, the beta1 thing as well.

Aside to what Terry reported with the version numbering, I have seen no
issue on my side.
I have just done a fresh installation for SME9.2RC1 and then restored a
former SME8.x setup so the issue that I see might be caused by my
non-standard restore procedure. However, just wanted to report that
incoming email delivery was initially not working with
/var/log/qpsmtpd/current showing messages like these:

Plugin whitelist_soft not found in our plugin dirs
(/usr/share/qpsmtpd/plugins) at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Qpsmtpd.pm
line 213.

On the sending site (our own SME9.2RC1 server (that version is a result
of upgrades, not a fresh install), our qmail log would show (IP addr
changed):

2017-03-27 22:07:55.216046500 delivery 47537: deferral:
202.49.165.x_does_not_like_recipient./Remote_host_said:_450_No_plugin_decided_if_relaying_is_allowed/Giving_up_on_202.49.165.x./

I could not quickly find something obviously wrong with the db
configuration settings for qpsmtpd so I manually searched through
/var/service/qpsmtpd/config/ (compared with our well behaving server)
and found in peers/0 dir:

bogus_bounce
whitelist_soft <<< -------

which I changed manually for the moment to "whitelist" instead and email
delivery seems now working. I need to fix that properly (how?).

Again, I might have caused that but wanted to report here just in case.

Michael

My guess is that you have a custom templates somewhere loading this now
non existing plugin. But you should open a bug so we can check

S.
indeed we have 3 contribs in the repo smetest waiting for the release of
sme9.2 to move to smecontribs:

- smeserver-geoip

- smeserver-mailstats

- smeserver-wbl

Perfect. That is the solution.
